With the event only a few weeks away, SiliCon with Adam Savage has announced their COVID-19 safety protocols to ensure the safety of guests and attendees.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SiliCon with Adam Savage will require everyone to wear a mask (regardless of their vaccine status). They have also made a set definition of what are appropriate face covers. Masks must fit securely around a persons face nose while cosplay masks, neck gators or bandanas are not acceptable.
SiliCon will also restrict the number of people allowed in the convention center while everyone attending will be required to undergo a temperature screening prior to entering. Hand sanitizer stations will also be setup throughout the convention center. The dealers hall will have wider walkways and all vendors will have to be cashless.
Details about special events, panels and more guests will be made in the coming weeks. Among the current guests will be William Shatner from Star Trek, Charles Martinet from the Super Mario series, wrestling icon Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Lou Ferrigno from The Incredible Hulk, former astronaut Catherine Coleman, author of The Martian Andy Weir, and professional cosplayer Hannah Lees Kent just to name a few.
This is just one of several live conventions that is set to take place in 2021, but that could change depending on the state of the pandemic. As of August 4th, 65.2% of California’s population has received their first dose of the vaccine while states has lifted most economic restrictions.
SiliCon is a fan convention that brings together the world of science and pop-culture for a festive weekend. The convention was established back in 2016 as Silicon Valley Comic Con by Wozniak and the late Stan Lee.
