Powerhouse Comic Con 2020 has now joined the long list of fan conventions that have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event will now be hosted in 2021.
Originally set to take place on July 26th at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, Powerhouse Comic Con 2020 has now been cancelled. The staff delivered the news in a statement that was made available on Facebook. While the event could have continued with restrictions, the staff opted to defer the event to May 15 2021.
Those who bought tickets in advance could have it rolled over for the 2021 event. Vendors also have the same choice or they could get a spot for California Republic Comic Con 2020. More information are given in the following post:
The announcement comes a day after CarrierCon announced that their 2020 event has been cancelled. Many summer events have either been rescheduled or cancelled due to the pandemic. Anime Expo and GDC have gone all digital while Sinister Creature Con has been delayed to October.
Other summer events that have not been cancelled are committed to their scheduled. It should be noted that dates and status may change given what will happen during the pandemic.
Powerhouse Comic Con is a one day pop-culture fan convention. The event is hosted by Colossus Girl Entertainment LLC, the same team that organizes Campbell Con. You could check out our coverage of Campbell Con 2017 to have an idea of what to expect.
