MarTech is one of the largest conferences for marketing and management technology. The event brings together major companies along with prominent start-ups for an opportunity to learn about the latest trends in the industry.

This three day event allowed marketers from all sections of the industries to gather for an opportunity to network among themselves and discover emerging trends. 8Bit/Digi was present during MarTech 2019 and these are the highlights from the conference.

Workshops and Panels

Industry conventions are mostly about learning of the new trends along with what to expect in the future. MarTech organized a series of panels and workshops that discussed a verity of topics given by industry insiders about emerging trends along with major issues.

Get the Right Vendor Short List with Tony Byrne was inside look on how companies could create the ideal way to chose the right vendor. With so many diffrent marketing technology services, this is a guide for companies to help them find the one that could serve them the best. The panel looked into the many options and check lists one should go through before making the right decision.

Solving the Content Crisis: Unlocking the True Power of Big Content in Omnichannel Marketing presented by Roger Connolly looks at ways one could piece together the fragmented world of digital marketing. He makes the case for why brands need to combine their content planning and organization tools while also enabling ownership of the entire content lifecycle. To make his point, he highlights the work being done with Sitecore’s Content Hub.

The Expo Floor

The expo floor had a number of major and start up companies who wanted to share their work while also on the look out for new clients. Each booth allowed guests to learn about the company and the projects they are working on. Many also had demos setup that allowed guests to get a sample of their services.

Here are some of the booths I got to check out and people I meet on the expo floor:

IBM was present to showcase how the Watson AI has been incorporated into numerous marketing tool. Guest got to learn about the many ways the Watson AI could help to optimize their marketing strategy.

One thing anyone who manages a website knows is that most hosting platforms are a nightmare to work with, Pantheon is website hosting platform that serves as an alternative to those other services. They provided a user friendly platform to host a website along with the tools needed to measure its growth and optimize the experience.

For brands trying to navigate an online business following the GDPR going into effect, One Trust is here to help. Their service is all about providing the tools that help brands comply with the GDPR. This includes easy ways to remove someones email from a database.

Brandcast is a website builder and content management service that presents itself as an alternative to services like WordPress and Squarespace. Brining everything under one roof, the service allows users to build their own website with little coding while also allowing them to easily update it.

After Party

When Thursday came to an end, guests gathered in the expo hall for the After Party. This was an opportunity for everyone to relax after a long day with some good food and a few brews in the company of new friends. Guests got to have some one-on-one with the speakers or hang out at their favorite booth for some personal time.
