Kit 9 Studios has announced that fans will once again vote to decide when Episode 3 of The Coffin of Andy and Leyley launches.
Back in October, fans were asked whether they preferred to receive Episode 3A immediately or wait until Episode 4 was ready. The overwhelming majority voted to wait, meaning Episodes 3 and 4 will launch together. However, many fans felt there wasn’t enough information provided and wanted the option to be reconsidered in a second vote.
In the latest progress report, the developers shared more details about the game’s current state. Episode 3 is complete, featuring an ending, a cliffhanger, and four dead-ends. The cliffhanger serves as the transition to Episode 4, which is still in development with no clear completion date. Fans will vote to either have Episode 3 launch as is or wait until Episode 4 is completed.
The developers also noted that the transition to Episode 4 ends on a cliffhanger. They are seeking community feedback, as such an ending could be divisive among the fandom.
The results from the second poll will be announced in the April update.
The Coffin of Andy and Leyley is a horror adventure game that blends elements of a psychological thriller with those of a dark comedy. The story follows siblings Andrew and Ashley Graves trying to survive a quarantine by taking drastic measures.
The game started as a project released on Itch.io before launching on Steam in Early Access. No launch date has been set but the goal is to have a full launch sometime in 2025.
