Update: The date for Cosplay in the Park has changed and the article has been updated to reflect that change.

Another Holiday tradition is back as life returns to normal in 2021. One such event is the cosplay gathering during Christmas in the Park, Cosplay in the Park.

Hosted by Eric Valverde Fotography, Cosplay in the Park will take place on December 19th from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM at the Caesar Chavez Plaza. The event invites cosplayers to show their new project and photographers to capture the moment. As with Christmas in the Park, this is a free event open to all.

Those who plan to attend should remember that prop weapons will not be allowed. Prop weapons are banned from Christmas in the Park. San Jose has a zero tolerance for weapon props and violators could either receive a citation or face jail time.

While not stated, COVID-19 safety protocols will be the same as Christmas in the Park. As of December 4th, 79.2% of California’s population has received their first dose of the vaccine. At the same time, the state has lifted all economic restrictions.

Cosplay gatherings are special events were local cosplayers can meetup for a day of fun. Christmas in the Park is a San Jose tradition in which the Caesar Chavez Plaza is transformed into a Winter Wonderland.
