If you need something to do this weekend, the staff at 8Bit/Digi has you covered with a selection of events running from October 8th to October 11th, 2026. The lineup includes trading card shows, cupsleeve events, book faires, game nights, anime events, cosplay gatherings, and more. This is not a complete list, just a few picks we pulled together to help you out.

Oct 8th to Oct 11th Weekend

Here is a breakdown of select events that will be taking place this weekend by county:

Santa Clara County

Santa Clara City Library Comic Con (Oct 10th in Santa Clara): A free comic con goes retro this year at Central Park Library, 2635 Homestead Road, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Featured guests include Judd Winick and Gene Luen Yang. Expect an artist alley, a Comic Book Pavilion, creator signings, tabletop gaming, food trucks, and costumed characters.

Bay Area Card Show (Oct 10th to Oct 11th in San Jose): The inaugural Bay Area Card Show takes over the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds Expo Hall, 344 Tully Road, with more than 300 tables of sports cards and trading card games. Vendors will stock Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and One Piece cards. Sanctioned Pokémon TCG and One Piece Card Game events require advance registration, and PSA and CGC will run express grading windows.

San Mateo County

Spooky Book Faire (Oct 10th in San Mateo): HorrorAddicts.net Press and the San Mateo Public Library turn the Main Library’s Oak Room into a haunt for horror readers from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Expect live scary readings, games at every table, door prizes, refreshments, a spooky photo setup, and books for sale from the authors. The event is for adults.

Alameda County

3DS LAN Party (Oct 11th in Oakland): The Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment turns into Luigi’s Mansion for a spooky season handheld hangout from 1p.m to 7 p.m. Bring a Nintendo 3DS or 2DS, a charger, and any games you want to play or share. Admission is $15, $10 with a student ID, and free for kids under 10.

Anime Club at the Asian Branch Library (Oct 8th in Oakland): Teens can join the Oakland Public Library’s weekly anime club at the Asian Branch in Chinatown from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

San Francisco

SpookFest 2026 (Oct 8th in San Francisco): The Roxie Theater’s 10th annual SpookFest screens a two hour lineup of homegrown horror shorts. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., the costume contest starts at 6:50 p.m., and the films roll at 7 p.m. The show sells out every year, so grab tickets early.

AniMachi Market: Love and Deepspace (Oct 10th in San Francisco): AniMachi Market celebrates Xavier and Zayne’s birthdays with a Love and Deepspace themed market at KOHO, 22 Peace Plaza, on the second floor above Daiso. The free event runs 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with an artist alley, a photo booth, a stamp rally, raffles, and a cosplay gathering.

Twisted Wonderland Playful Land Cupsleeve (Oct 10th and Oct 11th in San Francisco): My Cup of Tea and Astral Companions team up for a two day Disney Twisted-Wonderland cupsleeve event at 2666 Ocean Ave. Order a drink, collect unofficial cup sleeves, and settle the eternal argument over which dorm runs the show.
