Retroware and Zenovia Interactive have unveiled their upcoming game Neon Inferno, which is set to launch in 2025.

Neon Inferno is a cyberpunk shooter that combines the intense action of Contra with the setup of Wild Guns. Set in a dystopian New York City, players take on the role of Angelo Morano or Mariana Vitti as they battle the many gangs to help their crime family dominate the city.

The gameplay will be a blend of side-scrolling and gallery-shooter action, where battles unfold in both the foreground and background. Players will immerse themselves in a cityscape that is brought to life with 32-bit pixel art. Gamers can go solo or partner with a friend through co-op.
