With the Spring Season coming to an end, Viz Media has announced a list of major releases for the month of May 2024. This includes new manga series along with the return of beloved stories. Also included are spin-offs and tie-ins to your favorite works.  

All works can be purchased through Viz Media or authorized vendors. Here is a breakdown of all the major releases from Viz Media during May 2024. 

Series Debut

You and I Are Polar Opposites, Vol. 1 – Suzuki is in love with someone who is the exact opposite of her. She is cheerful, outgoing, and always trying to fit in, while Yusuke Tani is stoic, quiet, and doesn’t seem to care what people think of him. Will Suzuki be able to overcome her anxieties and ask him out?

Hirayasumi, Vol. 1 – After developing an unlikely friendship with his neighbor, Hiroto suddenly finds himself inheriting not just her house but some rather difficult emotions. His cousin, Natsumi, moves in with him, but as a struggling art student, she has her own troubles to deal with while putting Hiroto’s lifestyle to the test.

Star Wars: Visions: The Manga Anthology – A manga adaptation of Season 1 of Star Wars: Visions. 

Video Game Tie-Ins

Pokémon Adventures: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Vol. 2 – Under orders from the president of the Devon Corporation, the Pokémon energy absorption plan continues to move forward. Already filled with unease, Sapphire and Emerald are inexplicably attacked by Zinnia.

Anime Tie-Ins

Black Clover Vol. 35 – With Ichika and the others in trouble, Asta arrives to save the day. Has he mastered his new Zetten technique and will it work against Lucius’s Paladins? 

Chainsaw Man Vol. 15 – As a primal fear devil makes its appearance, the world may soon be turned upside down. It also has the power to drive a wedge between Asa and Yoru.

Yona of the Dawn Vol. 41 – Yona and friends embark on a dangerous quest to rescue Meinyan. The plan is to sneak into an enemy camp where the Dromos assassins await.

Dragon Ball Super Vol. 21 – Following the commotion on Mt. Butterfly, Trunks decides to take a look into the data on the disc that he stole from Dr. Hedo’s lab. However, the evil scientist intends to steal it back using an android to infiltrate Trunks’s school. 

Fly Me to the Moon Vol. 23 – Tsukasa and Nasa are closer than ever to unlocking the mystery of her eternal curse, but Tsukasa finds herself haunted by past memories. 

Helck Vol. 9 – As the Empire’s army sets out to destroy the towers, Helck and Vermilio confront the Human King. 

One-Punch Man Vol. 28 – Psychos and Tornado’s psychic battle rages on while Genos helps in rescuing the scattered heroes from their fight against the monsters. Although the outlook appears grim, a group of S-class heroes finds the inspiration to turn the tide.

Twin Star Exorcists Vol. 31 – What is Gabura’s true identity, and who will be willing to sacrifice everything to prevent him from killing their loved ones? 

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead Vol. 14 – Izuna has embraced the team leader role with panache, but the final boss’s recovery ability puts them in desperate straits.  

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Part 6–Stone Ocean Vol. 4 – The true reason Ermes is in prison is revealed, to seek revenge for her sister’s murder by taking out Sports Maximum. Jolyne rushes to stop her before she makes the biggest mistake of her life. Unbeknownst to either of them, Sports Maximum is host to the Stand Limp Viscuit.

New Releases

Blue Box, Vol. 10 – After a shopping date, Taiki takes Chinatsu to watch a sunset. With this perfect atmosphere, Taiki is preparing to tell her something important, until he’s interrupted by Chinatsu’s former teammate.

In the Name of the Mermaid Princess Vol. 2 – Mio and Yuri flee the kingdom to explore the world, making new friends along the way.

Like a Butterfly Vol. 6 – Suiren and Kawasumi are finally going on their first date. Unfortunately, neither one of them is sure what they’re supposed to do on a first date.

My Special One Vol. 6 – Actress Emika Nanase is in love with idol Kanato, but she’s stuck in the friend zone. The perfect opportunity comes along with the chance to co-star with Kanato in a TV drama.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian: The Manga Vol. 2 – The Mandalorian is sent to secure the Child at the request of a ruthless Imperial Remnant. The journey to return his bounty proves more dangerous than he could have imagined. After the Child demonstrates its power, it changes everything about the mission.

Wolf Girl and Black Prince Vol. 7 – Kyoya goes full sadist mode when he’s tasked with tutoring Erika’s little cousin. Lena is a headstrong, smart-aleck middle schooler who also appreciates Kyoya’s tough love approach. 

I Want to End This Love Game Vol. 2 – With the burning sensation growing, Miku and Yukiya push the boundaries of the Love Game.

Sakura, Saku Vol. 3 – Saku realizes she’s in love with Haruki. Meanwhile, Haruki and Kotono start pretending to be a couple to protect Kotono from her ex-boyfriend.

Choujin X Vol. 6 – Tokio and his friends end up at the Tower of Mourning, home of a creepy choujin named Zora. The choujin is actually Sora Siruha and she needs their help in fighting the dark future.

Dark Gathering Vol. 7 – Before they can tackle their next haunted site, Keitaro, Yayoi, and Eiko need to collect another of the sealed Graduates.

Heart Gear Vol. 4 – General Wodan has been waiting centuries for the one thing he needs to make his plan a reality—a human biosignature. Now that Roue has fallen into his lap, he’s able to rewrite the base program of every gear in Valhalla.

Tokyo These Days Vol. 2 – Shiozawa forges ahead with an independently published manga project. However, the manga creators around him are crumbling into chaos.

Books and Graphic Novels 

Pokémon: The Complete Pokémon Pocket Guide Vol. 2 – The second volume of a two book set. It organizes the Pokédex by number and includes data on 456 Pokémon. Also included are details on regional, Gigantamax, and Mega Evolution forms.

DVD Sets

Naruto Shippuden, Set 3 – Naruto begins training under Kakashi to learn Wind Chakra. Then a mission takes Kakashi to the Land of Fire, where he uncovers a terrible secret while danger strikes when a Rogue Ninja attempts to use the Lightning Style Jutsu to rain destruction on the Village Hidden in the Leaves. This four-disc set features 27 episodes (56-82) presented in 1080p in its original full frame. Special features include double-sided art cards, storyboards, clean open and end videos, and more. 

Sailor Moon Sailor Stars: The Complete Fifth Season – Sailor Moon and the Sailor Guardians are about to enter high school when a mysterious force frees Queen Nehalennia. This six-disc set features all 34 episodes of Season 5 in 1080 HD. Special features include cast interviews along with a clean opening and ending.
