It looks like fans of The Legend of Heroes are going to have a good year. Following the success of Trails Through Daybreak II, NIS America has announced that Trails Beyond the Horizon is coming in Fall 2025.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon will see a global launch on all major consoles and the PC sometime in Fall 2025. Players will once again take on the role of Van Arkride as he has been hired for another major case. As the people of Zemuria await the launch of humanity’s first foray into space, Van has been invited by Marduk to cooperate in a high-tech training exercise. This sets him and his agency on a collision course with the secrets at the very core of the continent.

Among the key features are diverging paths that will add verity to the playthrough with their squad. New gameplay mechanics include Shard Commands, Awakening, and the time-freezing Z.O.C.

Additional information about Trails Beyond the Horizon will be announced in the future.

This will be the second game in the Daybreak arc of The Legend of Heroes series. The arc is set in the Calvard Republic following the events of Trails into Reverie. The story follows Van Arkide, a spriggan—a bounty hunter and private detective—tasked with solving a series of cases. Trails through Daybreak is the first entry in the Daybreak arc and saw a global release on July 5, 2024.

Trails Through Daybreak II launched in February 2025 and you can check out our review of the PC version to learn more.
