Legends of the Zone Trilogy is a remaster of the original three games that launched between 2007 to 2009. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl is a video game adaptation of the 1979 Soviet film Stalker. The game was highly praised at launch and was an influence on other first-person survival games like the Fallout series under Bethesda and the Metro series. The film, directed by Andrei Tarkovsky, was based on the novel Roadside Picnic by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky. It was Tarkovsky’s final Soviet production before he left the country.
The long awaited sequel, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 launched in late 2024.
