Due to a tragic loss among the organizers, Silicon Valley FandomCon has been postponed to 2026.

Silicon Valley FandomCon was originally scheduled for November 7th to 8th at the San Jose Convention Center. However, organizers have postponed the event to April 10th through 12th, 2026. The decision follows the passing of a prominent staff member after a three year battle with cancer. In an online announcement, organizers shared the tragic news and confirmed the postponement to allow time for mourning and reorganization.

You can read the announcement here:

The guest lineup has not yet been updated to reflect the new dates, leaving it unclear which guests will return in 2026.

Bay Area folks who still want to attend a fan convention during the month of November can plan for these events:

  • KublacCon Fall from the 14th to the 17th
  • Anime Destiny on the 15th
  • YumeConUSA from the 15th to the 16th
  • Fan Expo San Francisco from the 28th to the 30th

  1. I’d be more sympathetic if they didn’t pull this same excuse last time in 2024. I’m not kidding, they postponed the July 2024 Fandomcon to November that year after they claimed someone in their board passed away.

Then they scrubbed all records of those 2024 cancellation posts from social media. It makes them look really shady.
