It has been announced that Season 2 of NieR: Automata Ver1.1a will premiere on Crunchyroll in early July.

One week after Aniplex announced the Season 2 premiere of NieR: Automata Ver1.1a, it has been confirmed that it will also premiere on Crunchyroll.
Season 2 of NieR: Automata Ver1.1a is set to premiere in Japan and globally via Crunchyroll on July 5th, 2024. Fans will finally get to see how the next part of the acclaimed game was adapted. The original cast from the game will return for Season 2. Additionally, the new season will feature “Black Box” by LiSA as the opening theme.
Crunchyroll has also posted an announcement trailer showcasing what to expect from Season 2 of NieR: Automata Ver1.1a.
At the moment, there is no news of when the dubbed version of the series will premiere. That announcement will be made in the future, but fans might not have to wait long.
NieR: Automata Ver1.1a is a retelling of the acclaimed game that follows a proxy war between androids and machines. The story follows YoRHa No. 2 Type B (2B) and YoRHa No. 9 Type S (9S) as they are dispatched to support the resistance on Earth. The two work to clear out machine bases of operation only to stumble upon something far more sinister.

NieR: Automata is the fifth game in the Drakengard series and it follows the fourth ending of NieR Replicant. The game was first released for the PlayStation 4 back in 2017 and was highly praised by gamers along with critics. NieR Replicant saw a remake that was released on all major consoles and the PC back in 2021.
Crunchyroll is the largest anime streaming service, having been credited for introducing the medium to a greater audience. It’s also active in the fandom community with its support for major and local anime conventions.
