Capcom has released a minor update for Resident Evil Village, marking its first patch since June 2023.

A new update for Resident Evil Village became available on February 2nd, 2026. According to the patch notes, the update fixes a few bugs while updating some aspects of the game’s performance. Because the changes are minor, no details or patch notes were provided for the update.

The last update the game received was an unnamed update back in June 2023. The bulk of the game’s updates took place after its launch from 2021 to 2022.

Resident Evil Village was released on May 7th, 2021 for all major consoles and the PC. Set several years after the events of the previous game, players take on the role of Ethan Winters who is trying to rescue his daughter from Mother Miranda and her mysterious cult.

The next entry in the series, Resident Evil Requiem, is set to launch for all major consoles and the PC on February 27, 2026. The story follows FBI technical analyst Grace Ashcroft investigating a series of strange deaths near the remains of what was once Raccoon City, only to be joined by Leon S. Kennedy to uncover something more sinister.

Requiem is now available for pre-order, with fans having the choice between the standard version and Deluxe Edition.
