During PlayStation’s State of Play, Konami unveiled Metal Gear Solid: Masters Collection Vol. 2 with an August 2026 launch date.
One of the highlights of the Metal Gear Solid: Masters Collection Vol. 2 is that it will allow players to experience Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the first time outside the PlayStation 3 ecosystem. The original game launched back in 2008, but had not seen an HD remaster or been brought over to other consoles due to it being built on an engine built specifically for the PlayStation 3.
The collection will also include Peace Walker HD and Ghost Babel. Peace Walker HD is the console version of the hit game that launched as part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. Ghost Babel was an original entry for the Game Boy Color.
Metal Gear Solid: Masters Collection Vol. 2 is set to launch for all major consoles and the PC on August 27th, 2026. Masters Collection Vol. 1 launched back in 2023 and it featured the first five titles in the series. The last entry to launch was Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater and you can check out our review to learn more.
