IceSitruuna has announced Parasite Mutant, a JRPG horror survival inspired by the PlayStation cult classic, Parasite Eve.

Parasite Mutant is a JRPG horror survival coming to the PlayStation 5 and PC. The story follows Agent Nova, who has been deployed to an abandoned island city that has been taken over by horrific creatures. She must uncover what has caused this nightmare and stop it before it unleashes its terror onto the world. Check out the announcement trailer to learn more about the game:

The game has already attracted considerable attention for its clear influence from Parasite Eve. Numerous horror game commentators have praised the project for how effectively it recreates one of the most iconic cult titles of the PlayStation era. Especially, with gameplay along with the design for the main character and some of the creatures.

Its gameplay will also draw inspiration from Parasite Eve through the Active Time Chains (ATC) system. This mechanic blends turn-based RPG with a three-segment chain system. Players must carefully time their actions across each segment, choosing whether to conserve energy or unleash a chain attack. As the gauge fills, they’ll need to dodge enemy attacks and strike at the right moment.

No launch date has been set, but IceSitruuna has stated that Parasite Mutant should be ready to launch in a couple of months. It could be speculated that the game will be released sometime in early to mid 2026. Addtional details about the game will also be unveiled in the future.
