Update 1.1.0 for Front Mission 2: Remake is now available, and it fixes numerous performance issues while improving some aspects of the game.

The first major update since April 2025 and just as the third game is about to launch, Update 1.1.0 for Front Mission 2: Remake is now available. It adds some quality of life improvements while also addressing numerous bugs and improving the gameplay. Most of the updates address minor bugs and glitches that have caused issues for players.

Update 1.0.9 Improvements

Here is the breakdown of the improvements made with Update 1.1.0 to Front Mission 2: Remake.

Improvements

  • Improved the Wanzer Setup window at the start of stages for clearer navigation and better UI usability.
  • Improved AI behavior on Level 14.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where equipped Zeder legs did not register melee attacks correctly.
  • Fixed a problem where some OCU units did not take actions on Level 14.
  • Fixed enemy units counterattacking despite having 0 AP.
  • Fixed an issue causing some intermissions to auto-skip before Mission 4 and Mission 10.
  • Fixed Tank Smoke VFX appearing incorrect on Level 27.
  • Fixed unnecessary explosion SFX during the cutscene before Level 15.
  • Fixed an issue where in-battle saves did not store all pilot data, such as Honor and Levels.
  • Fixed incorrect movement range calculations in Secret Missions 1 and 2.
  • Fixed a minor text visibility issue during the intermission before Level 10.

Stability

  • Increased Cloud Save storage space to help prevent save corruption issues.

Front Mission 2: Remake first launched on the Nintendo Switch in 2023 followed by additional consoles and the PC in 2024. Set 12 years after the event of the first game, the People’s Republic of Alordesh wants to break away from the Oceania Cooperative Union (OCU). When a second coup is launched by elements of the military, OCU forces are deployed to restore order.

The Front Mission series is a turn-based mecha JRPG that often follows conflicts between regional unions and economic blocs. The series is known for its rich storytelling along with its RPG gameplay. Players take command of a squad of wanzers (“walking tanks”) whom they must command in battle.

Front Mission 3: Remake will launch for the PlayStation and Xbox consoles, along with the PC on January 30th, 2026. The PC version will be available via Steam and GOG. Additionally, a demo of the game is now available for all consoles and the PC. Saved progress from the demo can be carried over to the full game.
