Following the successful launch of Fear Effect last year, Limited Run Games is bringing the sequel to digital storefronts this month.

Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix is set to launch on digial store fronts for the PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Steam on February 27th. Like the previous release, this is a port of the original PlayStation game but with some new features to help players better enjoy their experience and to work with modern controllers. The announcement was made in the following Tweet:

Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix originally launched in 2001 for the PlayStation and earned widespread praise from both critics and players. Despite the strong reception, it failed to match its predecessor’s sales, releasing late in the PSX’s lifecycle as the PlayStation 2 debuted with a wave of major titles around the same time.

A prequel to the original game, it follows Hana Tsu-Vachel, Royce Glas, and Deke DeCourt as events unfold that ultimately bring them together for their high-stakes job in Hong Kong.
