After months of promoting the game at numerous conventions, Bandai Namco has announced that Code Vein II will launch in January 2026.
Code Vein II is the highly anticipated follow-up to the 2019 post-apocalyptic Soulslike game. It will launch on January 30th 2026, for all major consoles and the PC. The announcement was made in the following trailer, which also showcases additional details about the game:
The game is now available for pre-order with the option of the Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, Ultimate Edition, and Collector’s Edition. Deluxe Edition includes the base game, a Stylized Forma set, Early Access, a custom outfit pack, and the Expansion DLC. Ultimate Edition includes the content of the Deluxe Edition along with a Character Costume Set, a Digital Artbook, and a Digital Soundtrack. The Collector’s Edition includes the content of the Ultimate Edition along with a Lou MagMell Figurine, a 60-page physical artbook, and a metal case.
Code Vein II is set in a future where humans coexist with Revenants, once human beings who were transformed into vampire-like creatures by a deadly plague. This fragile peace is shattered when a new virus, known as Luna Rapacis, emerges. Its effect is devastating: it mutates Revenants into monstrous beings now called Horrors. Players take on the role of a Revenant hunter who must journey into the past alongside a girl named Lou, whose power to manipulate time. Together, they have to prevent society’s collapse.
The first Code Vein was released back in 2019 and it was highly praised for its approach to the Soulslike genre, along with its detailed character customization. To have an idea about the game, check out our review.
