2024 has been a good year for Old School Marvel fans as we first got X-Men 97 and now we are being treated to Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection.

One of the highlights of the Nintendo Direct June 2024 showcase was Capcom announcing that Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection will launch in 2024.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is a collection of the iconic Marvel arcade titles developed by Capcom in the 90s. The collection will feature the following titles:

  • X-MEN® CHILDREN OF THE ATOM
  • MARVEL SUPER HEROESâ„¢
  • MARVELâ„¢ vs. CAPCOM® CLASH OF SUPER HEROES
  • MARVELâ„¢ vs. CAPCOM® 2 New Age of Heroes
  • MARVEL SUPER HEROESâ„¢ vs. STREET FIGHTER®
  • X-MENâ„¢ vs. STREET FIGHTER®
  • THE PUNISHERâ„¢

The collection allows fans to play these classics on modern consoles for the first time with new features. Some of these titles were last released on the PlayStation 2 while many only saw a console launch on the Super Nintendo or SEGA Genesis. No launch date is set but the game will be available for the Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation 4. Gamers will get to enjoy these timeless classics with some additional features. All of the fighting games will have online ranked and casual available for players. The online multiplayer is supported with rollback netcode for a strong and stable experience. A global high score leaderboard comes to every game in the collection so players can track their progress. Fans could also watch their friends battle it out in Spectator Mode.

Fans could also enjoy the collection playing solo or with local co-op – just like back in the day.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection will also include bonus content dedicated to the most devoted fans. This includes a collection of every game’s soundtrack, an in-game museum, and new display filters.

Additional details about the collection and the launch date will be announced in the future. This also includes news regarding a launch on additional consoles like the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series.
