June was a strong month for the Shin Megami Tensei fandom. It marked the launch of Persona 5: The Phantom X and RAIDOU Remastered, both of which met with high praise from the community. With even more content on the horizon, the team at ATLUS wanted to share more about The Phantom X. That opportunity came during a special panel at Anime Expo 2025.

The Official Persona5: The Phantom X Panel Featuring Lyn’s Live Performance took place at Petree Hall starting at 10:30 am on Day 3 of Anime Expo 2025. The panel presented an inside look into the game with Kazuhida Wada, Yohsuke Uda, Jun Matsunaga, and Sheigenori Soejima. It was followed by a live performance from Lyn Inaizumi.

Inside Persona5: The Phantom X

The panel began with Kazuhida Wada, Yohsuke Uda, Jun Matsunaga, and Sheigenori Soejima coming up to the stage. They started by showing their appreciation to the audience as Persona5: The Phantom X has been highly praised by the community, while the player base is greater than they anticipated. They have also appreciated the feedback from the players.

The first topic examined was the characters and the role of the Phantom Idols. The new Phantom Thieves were designed to feel more realistic and relatable, without appearing dull or ordinary. The development team used the core cast of Persona 5 as a foundation when creating the new characters. One newly introduced group is the Phantom Idols, unique individuals who support the player while standing out with their own identities.

Next was the topic of seasonal events and what they will mean for the player experience. Unlike the original game, The Phantom X removes the calendar system, allowing players to experience the story at their own pace. Without in-game time restrictions, players are free to explore the world and engage more fully with its content. This is especially true for seasonal events, which offer expanded activities whenever they become available. Also confirmed is the Version 1.1 update, which will introduce new characters and roguelike content.

The panel concludes with the premiere of the accolades trailer for RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, along with showing the Persona 4 Revival teaser.

While all that was happening, Shigenori Soejima held a live drawing session featuring the character Wonder. During breaks, he would show the audience his progress and even sketch additional characters on the side, including Morgana and Jack Frost.

Lyn Inaizumi Takes the Stage

After the panel, the stage was cleared for Lyn Inaizumi’s live performance. Greeted by thunderous applause, she opened with “Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There.” After thanking the audience and her fans, she closed the event with a powerful rendition of “Life Will Change.”

The Official Persona5: The Phantom X Panel Featuring Lyn’s Live Performance was one of the many panels organized during the Anime Expo 2025 weekend.

Persona 5: The Phantom X is now available to download for the PC via Steam, iOS, and Android.
