Fallout 76

After a long wait, Bethesda has announced a release date for the Wastelanders update for Fallout 76.

Wastelanders is a free upgrade that will revamp the main story and the side quests. It will also add NPC’s and settlements (staples of the series) to the wasteland of Appalachia. The update will be made available for all versions of Fallout 76 on April 7th.

One of the biggest criticism of Fallout 76 was the absence of NPC’s and wasteland settlements. During E3 2019, Bethesda addressed this issue by announcing the Wastelanders upgrade. Many (including myself) expect this upgrade to breath new life into a game plagued with performance issues and a dwindling player base. However that will all come down to the delivery.

Bethesda also confirmed that Fallout 76 will be available for sale on Steam on the same date. The publisher had attempted to promote their own game launcher, which was meet by backlash from the fan base.

Fallout 76 is an MMORPG and a prequel to the series, set 25 years after the bombs dropped. Players emerge from Vault 76 and must rebuild civilization in the Appliance region of America.
