Call of Duty: Black Ops II is Backwards Compatible for Xbox One
One of the most highly demanded emulators, Call of Duty: Black Ops II is finally backwards compatible for the Xbox One.
It has been the most requested emulator among gamers and after several years, Microsoft has officially confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops II is backwards compatible for the Xbox One.
In a tweet sent out by Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, Director of Programming for Xbox Live, confirmed that Black Ops II is now backwards compatible. Those who have a physical copy can play it like a normal game while those who have a digital copy will have to download it to the Xbox One hard drive.

The announcement is welcoming news to fans who have been demanding for years that best game in the Call of Duty series to be made backwards compatible.
Back in May 2015, Microsoft set up a user poll to receive feedback after it announced that some Xbox 360 games will be backwards compatible for the Xbox One. By June, five of the top 10 games were from the Call of Duty series with Black Ops II taking the top spot, followed by Modern Warfare 2 in fourth place and Black Ops in the sixth spot.
Black Ops II having now been made backwards compatible, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim now takes the top spot followed by Modern Warfare 2, the original Modern Warfare, Batman: Arkham City. However it’s unlikely that Skyrim or Modern Warfare will be made backwards compatible as both titles received an HD re-release in 2016.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II is the ninth game in the series and was released on November 13, 2012 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It became the fastest selling media title when it hit the $1 billion mark in 15 days, beating the previews record of 16 days held by Modern Warfare 3.

When you thought Microsoft couldn’t spread the CoD community even further. Having multiple CoDs out at the same time is not beneficial for the player count. Black Ops at most had 5k players worldwide when it became backwards compatible. You’ll now have players on five different CoDs at once.
On PC old titles last forever! All the years spending money on new Xbox/ps4 plus the amount you spend to use the services is too much. Once you buy a game on PC you have it forever plus you dont have to pay no one but your internet provider.
Would be decent if the game had their own servers on One and PS4.
Doubt people are gonna spend most likely close to $600+ for a new iteration of a system and a 4K tv if they don’t have one. It’s already been stated Scorpio won’t do crap to the market except split the player base even more and force people to upgrade for no reason.
Sony may have the timed exclusivity deals with the current CoDs but Xbox has backwards compatibility which doubles the available CoDs to play. I wonder how many Xbox Ones sold today just because of Black Ops 2 backwards compatibility…
Sweet, now all those ass hats can shut up asking about when it will come. Too bad people will just ask for another COD for BC non-stop again anyway.
OMG! Finally, Microsoft has listened to the votes! In the voting area for backwards compatable games Black Ops 2 had over 2 million votes and was the highest voted most wanted backwards compatable game! It’s finally here! YES!
Stop remaking old games and making old ones compatible Xbox is getting it’s ass kicked in the game market by all other systems because they’re not putting out any new games
I’m glad that black ops two is no backwards compatible for the Xbox one but I’m more looking forward to an HD remake of the game for PS4 since I one. Also activation should have made all versions of modern warfare for steam HD bike to fault just like white Bethesda did with Skyrim or 2K with BioShock. Having to buy an HD remake separately just makes no sense when you already have it for PC and have put over 100 hours into it.
That’s good and all, but can people stop acting like these old games matter so much? We might as well forget next gen and stay on the PS3/360.
Finally! Some people just wanna play the old games. The new one’s are cool and all, but some gamers just wanna get back to the old stuff!
