Blizzard ending Support for Games on Windows XP and Vista

If you play any Blizzard titles on either Windows XP or Vista then you better upgrade to Windows 7 or higher as the publisher has announced it will end all support for these operating systems.

Blizzard made the announcement on its forum in a post that stated:

Starting later this year, we will begin the process of ending support for Windows XP and Windows Vista in World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, Diablo III, Hearthstone, and Heroes of the Storm. Microsoft ceased mainstream support for these versions of Windows in 2009 and 2012, respectively, but since a decent portion of our audience was still using them at the time, we continued supporting them. However, there have been three major Windows releases since Vista, and at this point, the vast majority of our audience has upgraded to one of the newer versions.

Microsoft ended support for both Windows XP and Vista back in 2014, hence the response from Blizzards announcement has not been so controversial. Many have pointed out that those who still use XP or Vista are putting their computer at risk.

It’s unclear when the support will end but Blizzard will not be doing it all at once. Gamers who still use Windows XP or Vista should continue to follow the forums to receive news updates of this new policy.

But seriously, just update to Windows 7 already. It’s like Windows XP only with better features and none of the problems of Windows 8.
